Sali Hughes has officially received her MBE

We’re delighted to announce that Sali Hughes has officially received her MBE at her investiture ceremony, having been awarded the honour in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours List in recognition of her outstanding contribution to tackling hygiene poverty.

Sali is co-founder of Beauty Banks, the UK charity she established alongside Jo Jones to help tackle hygiene poverty by providing essential personal care and hygiene products to people living in need.

Since its founding, Beauty Banks has grown into a nationwide organisation supporting more than 2,000 charities and frontline organisations across the UK, helping ensure that access to basic hygiene products is not a privilege.

Sali and Jo were both recognised with MBEs for their services to the alleviation of hygiene poverty, celebrating their dedication to raising awareness, driving meaningful change and supporting communities across the country.
