At Insanity, giving back is an important part of who we are. Last year, we continued to create more opportunities for colleagues to support causes they care about through volunteering, fundraising and charitable giving.
Our Charity & Volunteering Committee had planned to run a volunteering day but decided to expand it include a dedicated week-long programme, giving colleagues greater flexibility to get involved. Across the week, colleagues took part in nine volunteering opportunities supporting four fantastic charities: London Wildlife Trust, Women at the Well, Copenhagen Street Food Bank and Scope.
From environmental conservation to tackling food insecurity and supporting vulnerable communities, colleagues were able to make a meaningful difference in a variety of ways. Following the week, we also made donations to each of the participating charities to help support their ongoing work.
One of the highlights of the year was the start of our partnership with Copenhagen Street Food Bank. The organisation helps tackle food insecurity by redistributing surplus food and essential items to anyone experiencing financial hardship, without the need for a referral. Alongside providing essential items, they create opportunities for connection, dignity and community for those who need it most.
During Volunteering Week, colleagues worked alongside the charity's dedicated team to help sort and distribute food, seeing first-hand the impact that practical support can have. Food waste and food poverty remain significant social challenges, and we're proud to support an organisation that helps address both. We look forward to continuing our partnership and finding new ways to contribute to their incredible work.
Alongside volunteering, colleagues took part in fundraising initiatives including Movember, Wear It Pink and Christmas Jumper Day, with company donations linked to participation. We also ran our Reverse Advent Calendar, collecting essential items for two of our charity partners, and introduced a new process allowing colleagues to nominate charities they'd like us to support in the future.
Looking AheadWe recognise there is always more we can do to create a positive impact in our communities. Over the coming year, we commit to:
Build on the success of our first Volunteering Week initiative to encourage even greater colleague participation.
Explore opportunities to support our charity partners through pro bono expertise, enabling them to benefit from the skills and experience of our people beyond traditional volunteering.
Continue listening to colleague feedback to ensure our charitable giving and volunteering programme supports the causes that matter most to our team.
Continue to increase our charitable giving budget by 10% year-on-year
